‘Locked’ hip? Here’s what your physio appointment could look like.

This patient came in with a feeling of a locked left hip, something that’s a lot more common than you might think.

A full assessment was done to understand what was going on, looking at movement, mobility & where the restriction was coming from.

In this case, the upper glutes were extremely tight & referring tension up into the lower back, creating that ‘locked’ feeling.

Treatment focused on releasing those muscles with acupuncture, followed by targeted exercises to keep things moving!

It’s not always where the pain feels like it is & that’s why a proper assessment is so important. If something feels ‘stuck’, don’t ignore it. Come & get assessed at the clinic 🙌

Let’s talk about the difference between relief care & lifestyle care…

Relief care is when someone comes in because the pain has reached its worst point. Once the pain settles, they stop coming.

But if you value function, regulation and movement (instead of only reacting to pain), you focus on maintaining how good their body feels.
